So close, yet so far...

The flickering of a flame licks away at the aching in my heart yet nothing can divert my mind from this pain that holds me down and bound. A tattered man I stand, alone and searching. For without my love, I remain a dying man with no one, just a hollowed shell and a mockery of life. The dark crimson of her blood flashes against my vision, almost gone before I can register its existence. 

My true one and only love.

A simple caressing thought as any it crushes the chains I hold suppressing my sorrow. My lips part as the sounds of anguish ring through the air, laced with longing. I scream until I am lost and nothing remains but the beating of my dead heart as it courses through my views.

Yesterday it seems I held her in my arms under the red umbrella of passion we shared. Only now I fall with the mourning colours of black pushing away the rain that falls from above but doing nothing for the storm within me. Lost and soulless I am with nothing but an incomplete chemical equation without her to give me energy. 

I am no longer rising, but falling like the skies, a writer with no words. 

With her crossing the borders of life into death, I am left stranded willing to take any steps required if only to reach the final step and hold her in my arms once more. Like the Mayans belief's relating to death, I have died, for any memory of me trailed off with her into the dark abysses of eternal rest.   

Forgotten I am, now and forevermore.
